- Mission Statement The Mission of the Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Company is to provide fire protection and rescue services, emergency medical assistance, community risk reduction and hazard mitigation in a professional manner to our unique maritime community and to all residents and visitors within the Tilghman Island Fire District and surrounding communities of Talbot County. The fire companies’ goal is to provide these public services in a courteous manner 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week. We are dedicated, caring volunteers protecting the community.
